A permanent residence permit is issued to foreign citizens who enter Ukraine for permanent residence (permanent residence). A permanent residence permit certifies the identity of such a foreigner in Ukraine and is a confirmation of legal permanent residence on the territory of Ukraine.
Grounds for obtaining permanent residence
The key point in obtaining a permanent residence permit is obtaining an immigration permit (if a foreigner stays outside Ukraine), which is issued in accordance with the quota established by Ukrainian legislation, with certain exceptions.
The category of immigrants for whom a quota is established include:
- cultural and scientific workers necessary for the country, as well as persons who have invested in the economy of the state at least 100 thousand US dollars
- parents, spouse of an immigrant and minor children
- brother, sister, grandfather, grandmother, grandson, granddaughter of a citizen of our country
- persons who were previously Ukrainian citizens
- refugees or asylum seekers (after 3 years of residence)
- victims of human trafficking (after 3 years of establishing the status)
The category of immigrants who are granted immigration permits outside the immigration quota include:
- one of the spouses, if the other of the spouses with whom he has been married for more than two years is a citizen of Ukraine
- children and parents of Ukrainian citizens
- persons who have the right to acquire Ukrainian citizenship by territorial origin (more details can be found in Article 8 of the Law “On Citizenship”)
persons who are guardians or trustees of citizens of Ukraine, or are under the guardianship or guardianship of citizens of Ukraine
- persons whose immigration is of state interest for Ukraine
foreign Ukrainians, spouses of foreign Ukrainians, their children in the event of their common entry and stay on the territory of Ukraine
